Once again, welcome to our class blog! The blog is a place for you to discuss your thoughts about our class reading and activities. We will visit the computer lab, as a class on a regular basis. There will be various assignments and questions posted here that you must complete and discuss.
You are also welcome to visit our blog outside of class, independently and I encourage you to do so. This is a place where you can ask your classmates questions about the reading or other things related to our class.
I remind you, however, that your activity on this site will be closely monitored and you are responsible for your comments. Your comments should be acceptable to everyone. That includes your parents, grandparents, younger siblings, teachers, Principal, etc. Your postings should not inlcude any material that any of these people might find offensive. If you need to think twice about saying something, it is probably best to leave it out.

Women Then and Now
In Of Mice and Men, women are separated from society and not treated as the equals of men. Do you think that this is still a problem in today's society? Are women treated the same as men? Do women have the same opportunities as men? Or do you think that women are treated better than men?

no women are treated differently. people say that its a mans job and that a women coulndn't do it.
women now have more rights and are allowed to do more things then back then
I think that our society has done a good job in making women equal. they basically get treated the same as men and even though some jobs have been classified as a "man's job", women are just as capable of doing it too.
Yeah its still a problem in todays society but women have more respect now. Women are not treated the same as men all the time. No women don't have all the same opportunities as men.
I think its been a big change from back then. Women do more today, they can work the jobs men do and have more opportunites to do what they want too. Today, i dont think they are treated much differently.
I think that woman have been given more rights than they had back then because they are allowed to vote and work any place they would like

Today women are treated as equals even tho some people still have the beliefs that men are better but we are equal and Women are very suscceful In todays society.Women have the same oppurtuniets as men the can do what they want and if they cannot then this is Sexist Society.
i think today in some things women and men are treated the same. but men still think that they are better than women and i dont think it is right.
I think it is still a problem because some men do not think women could do the jobs that they do. Women should get treated the same as men because they are capable of doing everything a man can do.
I think that men and women are getting treated more equally now because before women were slaves and they didn't get payed as much as men did. I think that sometimes they aren't because they only let men play professional sports and they only let men join the army.
i think women should be treated the same as men. women today dont have the same job opportunities as men. women arnt in the presedent business or in a protective services as men today
I do not think that women should be treated differently then men because they can do everything men can do. I think women were treated wrong back then and im glad theyre treated equal now.
I think that women are treated the same as men. I think that because now women are allowed to do the same thing as the men are. Back in the day the women had to stay home take care of the kids and clean and cook. Nowa days it is still the same in some houses but some women are out working in the factories just like the men are. Some women get paid better then men because they do a better job them them. I really think that women are treated equally now then they were back in the days. I agree with angie because people do still think that women are treated wrost then men but to others they are treated the same or even better then men.
i dont think this is still a problem. there are so many more opportunities for women than there were during the time this book was written. women and getting more and more jobs every day, when men are becoming more and more lazy. people treat women so much better now, and thats because society has done a good job of changing the past and helping create more jobs for women.
Women have the same rights as men do. No women are different from our society. If women wants to do a man's job than let her do it without any discrimnation needed.

I agree with Brett because i do thik that our society has done a good job in making women equal. Women can do pretty much everything that men can, when it comes to jobs and voting, etc. But i also disagree because sometimes women get away with more things than men can. For instance, say a man was raped by a woman and it he reported it. The jury would probably take the woman's side because it is very uncommon for a woman to rape a man.
I think our society has changed to make women have the same equal rights as men. Yes women cant do the same jobs as men can but they can still be capable of trying them. women now have alot more rights than men, and the are treated with respect.

I agree with Aliie because women are still treated differently than men today. Men think that women cant do the jobs that men can do. Also some men are SEXIST and think that women cant do a certain profession. Women can do everything that men can do or sometimes even better.
i agree with brett because before women were lower then men and now woman are equal to men. i believe that everything a man can do a women can do it also. There is nothing a man can do that a women cannot.

I agree with marlena because some men use to think that they can do anything better then woman could. I think woman can do as just as much a man can but maybe somethings even better.
I think women did not have nearly as much rights back then then they do now.They were not as equal as men, but today men and women are treated equally.
i think all women are treated the same know and there is certain things that only men can do and there are certain things that only women can do
