based on what you know about John Steinbeck, how much of his own life do you think he put into this novel? For instane - how did Steinbec feel about ranch life? Where did Steinbeck live and travel?

i believe that atleast one part of his life was put into this novel. i think the part is when he had a dream. A dream of living happy on a little place of his own and how somewhere along the way it was destroyed or messed up. maybe it was also describing his whole life and of someday achieving that dream and it was messed up but he kept trying again and again.

I think that Steinbeck did write about his own life. Also, he felt that the people on the ranch aren't treated right. Steinbeck lived in California and he traveled all over the place. He went to New York and lived there for awhile because he was shoned form his home town.

I think that some parts of his life were put into his book like different expierences. I believe that Steinbeck had a dream in life and he transferred that idea in to Of Mice and Men.

i think that some of this novel was part of his life. as he was growing up, he had a dream and in the book, lennie and george had a dream. he also thought that people on a farm weren't treated the right way and the book is about farm hands. so he at least put a little of his own life into his novel. the entire novel is not about his life, only bits and pieces.

I agree wit emmet because he love the ranch.I think the only reason why most of his novels or books were based on ranches because he was born on one he he lived there most of his life.

i think that steinbeck wrote some parts about his life. he used ranch life as an inspiration for lennie and george's dream

I agree with Marlena that Steinback could have wrote something about his life too in the book. He could have had a dream similar to Lennie's and Georgre's.

I believe that Steinbeck used some parts of his life and put them into the novel because he was constintaly visiting ranches and feeling worried about it's workers like how George was worried about Lennie on the ranch.

I think that SteinBeck was trying to put his own life into his stories. I think he did that so people knew how it was in the older days. He also did it because he wanted everyone to know how poeple are treated and how it is still the same nowa days. I agree with Christine because he did put some of his own thoughts into his work.

I believe that Steinbeck used some parts of his life and put them into the novel because he was always visiting ranches and feeling worried about the hard workers.

I think that his life was put into the novel. He was rich and could have gone to medical school but instead he had a dream of being a writer. Even though he wasnt accepted by his home town he didnt care because he wrote about things that most people in the thirties didnt realize or care about.
