Why do you think the characters of Crooks and Curley's wife were included? How did you feel toward each? Would you say they were both lonely people?

they were included because they showed how women were treated and how blacks were treated back then. i think that its a good thing that they were included because it shows how other people felt about them and how they felt about everyone else.yes they are both very lonely people because they are set aside from everyone else
YEEA I WULD SAY THEY WERE LONLEY BUT THEY STILL HAD PEOPLE TO TALK TO.they werent lonley because they lived on a faarm and there was work for them and everyone else was lonley and they didnt complain so they shouldnt either.ITS MY B-DAY
I Think they were included as the misfits of the book because everyone else Thought of them in a negatvie way.I felt that Curley's Wife was A big coquette.I feel sorry for curlyes wife b/c she is married to curly and She is lonely. but if she wanted to do something i thinks he could have done it but she shouldnt have casued so much trouble between Curly & all the other people crooks was a lonley black man i felt sorry for crooks.
They were included in this book because steinbeck wanted to show us how woman and blacks were isolated from everyone in the thirties. I thought Crooks was a kind man by letting Lennie come in and talk and i thought Curley's wife was a big flirt because all she did was try to talk to the men. Crooks was isolated because he was black and not allowed to be in the bunkhouse because he was black. Curley's wife was isolated becuase she was the only woman on the farm and not allowed to talk to anyone except Curley
I think they were included to show how blacks and women were treated in the 1930's. I felt bad for Crooks. and I felt bad for Curley's wife in a way for being the only female but she was a big flirt and wanted attention. Yeah I think they were both lonely. I also agree with Angela and Stephen and Melissa.
I think that the characters of Crooks and Curley's wife were included because Steinbeck wanted to show how badly women and black people were treated. I felt bad for Crooks and he should of been treated better. He didn't do anything wrong to anyone. I think that Curley's wife wanted attention. I think that they were both very lonely. They both had no one to talk to just themselves.
i agree with melissa because it showed how women and blacks were treated. it is a positive thing that curleys wife and crooks were included because it shows how women and black people were treated. anyhow, i dont think that they should have used to the n-word because that may have hurt many people reading this book.
I agree with marlena and melissa because it shows how they were really treated. It shows that just because Crooks is colored you don't push him off to the side and since Curly's wife was such a flirt all the guys would be like "don't you have a man or why are you in here."
i agree with melissa amen perfect description of the reason they were included. they were included because they wanted to show how women and black people were treated
i think that tbe two characters were included in this novel because they are almost like the MISFITS. They are the ones that everyone looks down on. Also these characters are the lonley people who have no one.
i agree with melissa because they were included to show how blacks and women were treated. they are both lonely because they have no one to talk to
I believe that Crooks and Curley's wife are put in the story because they show the isolated and the unrespected people in society.I do believe Crooks and Curley's wife are lonly people because of who they are in society.
I think that they are lonely people because she really only got married so that she could gat away from her mother. Well that's why she married Curley. Crooks was lonely because he had know one to talk to because he wasen't allowed to go into the other bunks. He had to stay in his little barn just like Cruley's wife was supposed to stay in her house and when ever she was outside she caused a lot of trouble for the others. I really think they were meant to be because they were each very lonely.
They were included because to show the reader how they are alienated in a group and how they have to deal with their typical everday life. They are lonely since their put aside from thier surroundings such as their society.
I agree with stephan. They were included because thats how African Americans and women were treated in the thirties. I think it was good that Curley's wife didnt have a name because back then women werent as important as men. Yes they were lonely because they didnt have anyone to talk to. All Crooks does is read because he has nothing else to do after the work day has ended and hes alienated by the rest of the ranchers by having to sleep with the horses. Horses dont talk back so yeah he has nobody. And he isnt allowed to go in the bunk house either.
